The OS of choice also contributes to the choice of device for the tracker. Sometimes it is difficult to find a device that will work in the Android and Apple ecosystems at the same time. Find My Device on Android With the addition of the network to Android devices, this has become an exciting situation that is creating a problem for families who have both an iPhone and an Android phone. For example, AirTag, which is an iOS-only feature, won’t be able to accomplish anything beyond the limited features on Android.
Enter Pebblebee. Their tag, card, and clip tracker offers a unique solution: it features Find My Device and Apple’s Find My network compatibility. Freestyle lets everyone choose a specific tracker that best suits the home.
Here’s the catch: Pebblebee trackers, unfortunately, can’t tap into both networks simultaneously when using one connection. In the first step, you are requested to choose a network (Android or Apple) during setup, and the tracker shows preference to this network. Despite this feature, a smart technology has been developed. Even if someone else’s unsupported device doesn’t give you an accurate spatial reference, at least they can send a “hint” notification to help you recover your lost item.
You don’t even need the Pebblebee app to track your gear since it already has those features built-in. While its main use is to update firmware and enable functions that are enabled through the tracker’s buttons, it is important to emphasize that it can also be used to receive notifications from the tracker.
This does not agree with the company’s website which is currently under work. However, the Pebblebee team supports users to operate their tracker with either of these two networks at a time. They told us that they are already working on a redesign of their website to better outline this function.
Pebblebee trackers are an excellent solution in the assortment of these types of services because they focus on an essential concern of many families with different phone platforms – finding a gadget that can be discovered by any device at hand.
