Tesla is pushing to put full self-driving (FSD) technology in the hands of drivers, which in practical terms means artificial intelligence that enables cars to drive themselves on highways and roads. So, starting this week every American Tesla owner will be able to experience the system for free during a one-month practice session.
AI-Drive technology promises to create a new on-road experience, while its cost ($12,000 or $199 monthly) is a barrier for most customers. Unless people change Tesla will inevitably fail. This is not the first time that Tesla is offering this free ride. However, this time it is the grandest task yet.
The company’s mix of FDT (Full Self-Driving) beta V12 release along with the fact that is a turning point together, build on the anticipation for something special on the horizon for all Tesla lovers. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk already introduced it as “mind-blowing” technology. It is Machine Learning, an intelligent system that focuses on powering it with plenty of real-world driving information, which is used to make each driving experience better than the previous one.
But, there is something very important that needs to be said. L2 is the current driver assistance system. This means that the driving is ultimately in the hands of the property owner.
S, really, a whole other story? It seems that the integration of FSD does not give the brand the full expected results. They also concluded every new car delivery has a pilotless FSD version. The free trial is probably the beginning of the user engagement process. Moreover, this may be the time when the organization wants to prove its technological existence.
Contrary to the original communication, which pointed to an early launch of the free month in the United States, it seems that the offer is limited to users in the US for now. If possible the schemes should be replicated in other areas also.
We should also mention that these cars manufactured after October 2016 were set up to be able to activate FSD when available. Although this was announced to be true, it did not happen, leaving the owners with more budget than they needed. Therefore, the inclusion of these older vehicles in the trials will go a long way towards a goodwill relationship. So they will remember their dreams that they had bought cars that were state-of-the-art self-driving.
