Music fans in the United States, Canada, Spain, China, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Australia, France and Brazil are welcome! Say goodbye to YouTube as the primary source of music videos. At least you can redirect some of your videos – see more Spotify has just started testing a new feature that allows you to easily switch from playback of any audio song to a music video, right within the app. Open any browser without doing anything inside.

This is doubly good news and many are not optimistic. This involves integrating a first-person video of your music video into your Spotify stream. Even navigating mobile apps becomes an effort just to follow the latest music video for that cool tune you just found. Now there is no such need. To start with, you can expect the trendy brand to stream music videos exclusively on its platform, so there will be no ads, just a commercial-free viewing experience.

And since everything has some drawbacks, you might want to pay attention to a few things. It is in beta testing, so it may be limited to certain countries (listed above). Furthermore, you need to be a premium Spotify subscriber to use it. (So, free users…warning!). Similarly, although Spotify has an extensive music library, the availability of this type of video will become scarce immediately after its release. However, they have the right to deploy the program further to expand the collection, so fans will enjoy a list of different genres and artists.

There is no doubt that the concept of music video releases is very interesting considering the significant changes currently taking place in the music industry. Universal Music Group’s negotiations with TikTok regarding royalties reflect the debate over how artists, particularly those who are successful on streaming services, are paid. Music videos are becoming a new kind of content for fans to watch and a place for artists to showcase their work, and now Spotify comes in and offers this content on its platform.

While rivals like YouTube Music and Apple Music already offer music videos, Spotify is set apart by its seamless integration, the main attraction of which is skiploading ad-free viewing. It is a fact that beta testing can be added to the map of music fans of innovative technologies to listen and follow their favorite artists on Spotify, a platform for them to join or unite as a whole.
