Get ready for us to see a tiny glowing ghost crawl out of a scary house on Snapchat! Snapchat has dropped a bombshell on fake news recently – this week it released a splashy update against the spread of misinformation online. This copyright infringement is done by placing an invisible watermark on any creation that uses AI tools.

These watermarks may not be that intrusive, but my little glowing friend with the ghost icon (the late Snapchat logo) will be there to say hello. There won’t be just one scenario for the role they play. Everyone who sees this image, whether on Snapchat or anywhere else, can immediately recognize that it is AI-generated and not a snapshot of a natural environment.

Having said that, Snapchat’s AI tools are becoming more advanced, which means a bigger opportunity for the user, great!!! They can be used to create unrealistic images which is quite exciting for followers, however using them to alter reality is a plausible way to fake a situation. This logo serves as a symbol of information and a source of updated knowledge; Hence, it ensures that people do not succumb to the high chances of being misled.

but that’s not all! Additionally, Snapchat is also taking other measures to ensure that its facial recognition features are safe and free. To accomplish this properly they are going to take a different approach. People may want to use AI to generate strange or inappropriate signals, and hence, they will create a special review process for it. Additionally, they are seeking means to guarantee that the AI itself does not inadvertently produce false or misleading results considering its primary purpose.

Consciously or intentionally, Snapchat is contributing to the adoption of AI technology. They are achieving this through their watermarks and protective measures – two measures that ensure that it will be used for entertainment and creative reasons rather than spreading misinformation. So, when you see a great emote on Snapchat soon, you have to remember that it’s just an AI-generated function, but not something that’s part of reality!
