Samsung is currently in the process of developing a brand-new generation of Galaxy Buds. Alongside the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, the company is also actively working on the standard Galaxy Buds 3.
Samsung’s Progress with Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro
Except for the recently launched Galaxy Buds FE – for more details, refer to our Galaxy Buds FE review – all existing Buds models are considerably aged. The Buds 2 was introduced in the summer of 2021, while the Buds 2 Pro hit the market over a year and a half ago. The wait for innovation is almost over. It was revealed towards the end of last year that Samsung is in the process of developing the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Recent updates now confirm more exciting developments in this regard.
It appears that Samsung is set to unveil a comprehensive Buds 3 series later this year. This series will not only include a fresh Pro model but also the standard Galaxy Buds 3. The model numbers assigned to these are SM-R530 and SM-R630 respectively. The necessary firmware for both Buds models has recently been finalized. Moreover, the battery designed for the charging case of the Buds 3 Pro has also cleared inspection at a South Korean agency. Unfortunately, concrete details remain scarce at this point.
Expected Release Date and Further Details
At this moment, we are unable to disclose more concrete information. The suitability of the charging cases with a screen that was showcased earlier in January for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro remains uncertain. However, it appears likely that they will be making their debut later this year – though not alongside the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A55, but perhaps in the summer alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Pricing information remains speculative for the time being. The Galaxy Buds 2 hit shelves with a suggested retail price of approximately €150, while the Buds 2 Pro commanded €229 at the time of launch.
