Are you looking to reduce your podcast time on YouTube Music? Hopefully, this will fill the workforce void. Google seems to be in the process of creating another feature for its music streaming app – a “Trim Silence” feature. Such a state of art is especially interesting since YouTube Music is going to replace Google Podcasts and the old app may soon be defunct.

Although YouTube was not designed for podcasts and Google did not provide many features for this purpose, for some time now, it has been improving and adding features to make its platform the best it can be. Recent integrations also include subscribing to podcasts via RSS and automatic downloads for released episodes. And even though a large number of YouTube Music subscribers recognize some of its shortcomings, they are still not as widespread as professional podcast applications.

Let’s see how “Silence is Trimmed” can do this. Through this functionality, time can be saved by omitting the quiet component in audio recording. It is currently known to be working on some parts of technology in Google Podcasts. It’s like watching a movie when the quiet moments are rapidly passing by in front of you!

The last version of YouTube Music is 6.43.52 and includes provisions for “Trim Silence” music trimming, which means the new feature is probably coming soon. Sentences such as ‘trim silence’ and ‘kappa annotation’ were found in the code, which defines feature names and what the user will find described in that feature.

Unlike the live functionality, the functionality itself is, sadly but actually, quite dead. For example, this could be a function of fixing Google’s servers or making some adjustments. Still, it’s a positive step forward, and YouTube Music users interested in saving time and being on the same platform where they listen to music and watch videos may be particularly interested in this route.
