Pixel Woes: Network nightmares plague latest models

The unsatisfactory condition of the Pixel 7 and 8 contemporaries is that their devices fail to co-exist and generally function cooperatively with their carriers/carriers. It all started with the March 2024 update, which aimed to improve the network, which was commendable.

Complaints will include missed, delayed, or wordless messages and sometimes no connection altogether. One user came up with a unique solution – “Airplane Mode Shuffle”, a hack that Pixel 6 owners, in particular, are probably already familiar with, a shuffle on and off every two hours to maintain the signal. This is a result of the use of modem chips manufactured by Samsung (Exynos 5300) as some people believe that it is no longer as good as the modem chips used by other major brands.

The problem seems widespread. The next user says they’ve been having consistent problems using their Pixel 7 Pro on Verizon over the past week, with calls that went straight to voicemail, and texts sometimes arriving delayed or bursting out uncontrollably. This is surprising given that they say they already know of some other Verizon members who are using Samsung as well as iPhone devices but are unable to experience the same problems.

The long wait for a solution is still dragging on. In their April update, the problem was still not resolved, and users continued to suffer in the hope that the May update would end the suffering that no one could see coming. This could be the moment when Google will announce a general mid-cycle update to compensate Pixel users for their disappointment.
