Key Points:

  • Google Discover introduces a new “Sunrise and Sunset” card for real-time updates.
  • Users need to manually enable the card, which then syncs across all devices.
  • This update is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

Google Discover has unveiled its latest feature: a “Sunrise and Sunset” card, enhancing the informational carousel at the top of the feed. This new addition provides users with the exact sunrise and sunset times for their current location. To activate this feature, users must manually enable it by swiping left until they see the pencil icon. Once enabled, it syncs across all devices, ensuring consistent updates.

The “Sunrise and Sunset” card joins other informational cards such as Air Quality, Finance, Sports, and Weather, making it a useful tool for those who track daily light conditions. Despite extensive testing of a “Shopping” card earlier this month, Google has not yet rolled it out widely. Additionally, Google recently reversed a redesign intended to enlarge the cards for more data display. This redesign was part of a broader update that rebranded the carousel as “your space.”

Currently, the sunrise and sunset card is widely available on both Android and iOS, though some users report not seeing it in their feed yet. It appears at the top of Google Discover within the Google app and on the leftmost screen of the Android home screen. The carousel displays up to two cards at a time, offering a streamlined yet comprehensive user experience.

Moreover, the Google app recently introduced a new “Notifications” tab on the bottom bar for Android users, further enhancing the app’s functionality and user engagement.
