While the puzzle of solving the phone’s security settings has faced Pixel users, he may have found an easy solution. The “Test Google” tab, which is new and seems to have appeared under the “Security & Emergency” tab, is quite a surprise to me. Unlike others that come with labels and descriptions, ‘Test Google’ has no icon, and when tapped it redirects you back to the main security settings page.
But this isn’t the first grant someone was able to complete. Here, we apply a metaphor. Recently, some users discovered the strange message “Satellite SOS” appearing and the setting “Find my device network” was available in the Google Play Services beta.
“Test Google” is mentioned very close to the emergency location service and earthquake alerts, which may mistakenly be hinting at Google testing some new security-related function. Although Google does sometimes use its features and make it into production environments, they don’t always do so, plus they are not as mysterious and obvious.
The fact is that this disappointing absence of Google has left Pixel users in an informational void. They wonder what this could mean for the future of their device. We’ll know soon if they can know the location of “Test Google.”
