Is Siri about to take the digital assistant throne?

Siri considered the natural digital assistant for iPhone users, has very limited capabilities. Siri has set off a timer in the kitchen and changes from one song to another whenever I tell her to. Setting alarms and timers is its strong point, but when I ask a difficult question – it never gets resolved because Siri can’t figure it out. At this point, what comes to your mind is the iPhone release date which is the news snippet with the only one reminding you of the actual release date. While Google Assistant tells the date immediately, Siri helps in other steps before knowing the date.

The knowledge gap surprisingly also affects the company’s reputational historical fact. Since Siri can force you to go to a site search unexpectedly, Google Assistant can show you the date as well as the great photo of Steve Jobs introducing the device to the world.

On the other hand, a bright future awaits all around. It is said that Zapal has developed ReALM which is an AI model that can take into account the context of conversations and also understand on-screen information. Research papers hint at the possibility of a broader AI update in iOS 18, accept it or not. It is estimated that Apple’s model could surpass the performance of GPT-4.

Beyond the concept of artificial intelligence, it is still unclear how progress will lead to faster and more comprehensible answers from Siri. But one thing’s for sure: There are hordes of iPhone users babbling or talking out loud about the ideal Siri they have in mind.
