Imagine yourself with your entire travel package in one place: tickets (or boarding passes), discount vouchers, parking passes for a long-term rental vehicle, and organize everything else with the help of Google Wallet. This is exactly the function that “Automatically Add Linked Payment Provider” seeks to realize.
It can be easily searched for and used immediately the next time you open the “Pass” section of our Google Wallet app (for Android). Going forward, our selected partners will be able to automatically add your passes to your existing passes. Consider, you saved a photo of your boarding pass for a flight and the airline can automatically load the details into your Google Wallet and send you a voucher for a meal.
This feature is only at the beginning of its implementation, allowing the team to post documentation and examples for developers to use. The Google company specifies that “auto-link” is required with these passes, they will not mess up your wallet. Separate them into the first compartment with your boarding pass as the matching item and make sure it is clearly labeled “New Issue.” Luckily for you, this is an optional setting that you can turn off any time you don’t mind the restrictions they’re imposing.
Although there is no active help article currently running, the positive results of running it are obvious. Links are facilitators that connect each of your trips by removing unnecessary hassles and providing one-click access to all your travel essentials. This feature first appeared in version 24.10.x of Google Wallet. It is now being gradually rolled out across the platform. If you haven’t tried the new Google Wallet yet, go and download it now!
