Google makes checking your RCS provider a touch tricker

Have you ever wondered who is behind the magic of making the chat features that you call Google Messages incredible? We’re pretty close to what we’re seeing in terms of the way it’s been achieved, although, of course, there’s been a little bit of variation.

Previously, there was a line (almost hidden) in the RCS settings (for those who did not clear their phones) where “Who provided you with Rich Communication Services (RCS)” was clearly stated. The data is now covered with a micro-sized “i” hidden near your mobile number that you can see at the top of the Settings page. Well, I must say that it takes a little more effort to find and implement a more involved method that replaces the earlier simpler method.

In a way, some users may even fail to see the “provided” part. This may be because foreign telecommunication carriers, for example, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, are slowly moving forward with Google’s Jib platform. A major change in this regard is expected as Google takes more power over which sites are listed, reducing the issues that were originally being dealt with on sites like Google My Business.
