Key Points:

  • Web-style Google Drive’s key wrapper is offering a new Short Cut, the first-letters feature, to simplify looking.
  • A forum for users that shares first-letters navigation makes searching the directories easy, so they can press the first letter that a file name begins with without looking for the whole name, which simplifies browsing.
  • For instance, single-letter shortcuts which are well-known now will be replaced by multi-key shortcuts and they would be similar but they vary slightly based on the operating system improving accessibility and efficiency.

The web-based Google Drive is witnessing an incredible development in its keyboard shortcut parameters. The new release will have an innovative user interface tool called “first-letters navigation,” to make browsing fast, simple, and easy for daily users.

Therefore, this innovative add-on is intended to make the journey through the file lists easier thereby only by pressing the first letter or letters of the desired file name as a quick key. Continuing to press that letter later will bring other files either with the same letter, for example, P from Personal or P from Professional, allowing a timely location of specific ones.

Furthermore, the UI shortcuts of the one-letter type will be converted into multi-key shortcuts, with the slight mutations being customized for the operating system. This transition is geared towards the goal of creating a straightforward and hassle-free system that could be used on any of the developing platforms.

These changes will be made effective as of 1st August and users on both workstation and regular accounts will be able to access these shortcuts. They can visit the Settings page of Google Drive where they’d read Keyboard Shortcuts and click on “Update Now”.

Consequently, users will see the existence of links in the menu and toolbar drop-downs throughout Drive that will be available while directly accessing the relevant menus. Such enhancement will enable the users to experience better accessibility and ease of use.
