Free prints perk leaving Google One

While the recent news of Google One shutting down its VPN service garnered the most attention, another lesser-known feature is also ending: free photo prints distributed through Google Photos.

Not all Google One users will be aware of this benefit until now, so this is an opportunity to get ahead of the competition. Unlike some of the service’s key features, including extended storage, free shipping of prints was not explicitly broadcast. It is not applied to “selected” prints line by line, which may indicate any major formats or Unix omissions. Nevertheless, it allowed a small percentage of leeway for individuals who preferred to hold on to printed copies of all their life stories.

The thinking behind the change is for clarity purposes and for the key features that are most used in Google. This calculation is based on good business sense, but it’s no consolation to those who enjoyed the commodity (and affordability) of free delivery.

The Google One functionality that allows you to receive prints delivered to your door will expire on May 15, so if you’re one of those who took advantage of the service and you still prefer to receive your paper photos, So, keep the possibility of shipping costs in mind when you’re ordering your next print. Pixel 7 and above owners can still access VPNs through their smartphone settings, while Google One’s other standalone VPNs are being phased out later this 2023.
