Instagram is making your direct messages (DMs) more convenient and customizable with two new functions: message boosting and chat pinning.
It is now much easier to fix typo errors and second thoughts. You have fifteen minutes to edit the message after sending it. Simply press and save the message, select “Edit” and make your adjustments. The recipient will see an “Edited” label letting them know the message has been changed, just like iMessage’s editing feature.
Never miss important conversation time. Pin certain chats to the top of your inbox for concise access. Swipe left or tap and hold a conversation, then select “Pin” to keep it easily accessible. Unpinning is just as simple. This feature is useful for frequently contacted people or conversations that you need to revisit later.
Privacy management is promoted. You can now disable study receipts for all or specific chats. Go to your account settings, tap “Messages & Story Responses” and toggle off “Show check receipts.” This capability, on its first try, gives you better control over your messaging experience.
Save your favorite stickers for easy reuse. Press and hold the sticky label you want in the DM, and it will be stored for future use. Your saved stickers will appear at the top of the sticky label step the next time you open DM.
These updates demonstrate Instagram’s commitment to improving its messaging capabilities, potentially encouraging users to favor its platform for communication over competitors.
