There is a lot to offer in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and I believe the way the game looks and plays is much more than just a good story. This expansion concludes a decade-long saga and Bungie isn’t complaining about it. They are trying their best to let players enjoy the adventure before the chapter of the saga ends. Defenders of the light, be prepared for nothing to be the same as the line between light and darkness will soon become uneven.
The Prismatic subclass of the new Pantheon class shines on the world with its many different abilities. Now the spirit of light and darkness has engulfed you in powerful attacks to create deadly combinations. Try picturing the same opponent you neutralized with a Stasis Grenade being detonated by Solar Exhalation to deliver the final blow. “It’s pretty much game-breaking, and that’s why it’s making a cool impact,” says Destiny 2’s combat lead Ben Womack.
This wish fulfillment is not limited to unrestrained anarchy. Prismatic subcategories thus open up for us the construction of a universe. Remember the sheer fun of Destiny 2: Forsaken. Yes, by highlighting such exciting moments, Bungie is harkening back to the days when we became a truly unstoppable force by experimenting with gameplay.
There is devastation everywhere from there. This is the gist of the gameplay: equipping exotic class items on random rolls that trigger luck-based perk effects, and sometimes these effects can be so ridiculous that you can’t even see your character running across the sky. Forget about growing wings. Imagine a hunter who can recover weapons surprisingly fast during a gunfight as well as get chances. The “breaking” possibilities are strictly plotted, but breakability is the main intrigue at that point.
On the other hand, using power is dangerous. The Final Shape introduces a terrifying new enemy faction: the Nightmares of Fear. By giving you aerial opponents, handheld weapons, or giant health-devouring monsters, we break up the monotony of space combat. Enemies like Husk and Stasis-wielding Attendant will now be on the hero’s track. They have to move in a specific way and adapt so they don’t hit their wall.
The discovery of the final conflict is inevitable as the showdown scene unfolds, where you witness, the fight in the shadow behind the light and darkness. But fear not, Guardians. “It’s not game over,” Bungie’s creative director Luke Smith insists thoughtfully. “See what’s coming in destiny after taking the light-sized unit.”
