Search industry giant Google is getting ready with its new tool, CtS, for debugging Circles to Search. This unique app will ensure that you no longer need to waste time scanning your screen because you can simply draw a circle around any object, and you will find it instantly.
The custom design team recommended keeping CtS readily available everywhere on your phone, no matter what type of navigational system it is. This is not a problem as it blends easily with both gesture navigation (as a replacement for activation of the Go Bar) and the classic button layout. On the other hand, some gesture navigation users are facing problems in tapping CTS because their technology has a wide activation area. This topic is being addressed by Google which is working on better activation algorithms to prevent unintentional activations.
For the same purpose, CtS uses the visual search tool, known at Google as Google Lens. Using this feature, you can take snapshots of specific items or text and understand them instantly. One of the major benefits offered by the tool is that searching images is not the only option, you can also highlight the text around a certain word to find it. A major goal of this experiment, in addition to tapping, was to create a lens-like feel so that users could have fun not only selecting their text but also moving and inspecting it.
It’s all about accuracy, so Google has spent a lot of time aligning the circle detection inside the mobile tool exactly how you want it. They’re not done yet – interestingly, this year’s developments include the union between regular Google searches and Lens results, creating a nexus that will change the way we spread information.
Essentially, Circle to Search represents a new model of how you interact with your phone, which brings all the results together like one of these search engines and gives you a pleasant user experience. As CTS improves, and new ones are added, anyone armed with a mobile device will be able to keep track of its innovations.
I can’t do this anymore, just constant false invocations of circle to search. Finally disabled it. pic.twitter.com/6nxRFzppvl
