Apple may be breaking away from tradition this year, opting to skip a summer splash for their upcoming product launches. While rumors abound of new devices coming, including a redesigned iPad Pro with an OLED screen and M3 chip, whispers suggest these will arrive without celebrating a dedicated event.
This would not be entirely unexpected. Apple skipped over the events of last summer, and with no revolutionary chip improvements to disclose, there may not be a need for a dedicated presentation. Additionally, some enhancements, such as possible screen enhancements on the iPad Pro, may not be available for a wider release.
So, what can we expect to see? The star of the show could be the highly anticipated update to the iPad Pro. This update promises a stunning OLED display and a powerful M3 chip, which marks a big jump from its 2018 iteration. The iPad Air can also join the party, adding a brand new 12.9-inch game to the familiar 10.9-inch display. Both models will be the first iPad updates from 2022 onwards.
Whispers also feature a new Apple Pencil, which can be a combination of customizable magnetic tips and Find My functionality. For folks that want a greater computer-like enjoy, an up-to-date Magic Keyboard is rumored for the iPad Pro, which boasts an aluminum casing that gives it an extra premium experience. Rounding out the range of possible introductions are the thirteen-inch and 15-inch M3-powered MacBook Airs.
These updates will likely focus mainly on chip upgrades, with few design changes expected. While the lack of a dedicated event may be surprising, it’s hardly surprising for Apple. We may yet see these exciting new features coming, which could culminate in a wider showcase of software development at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference.
