Apple Folds on Foldables: Release pushed back until 2027

Think how people used to make fun of foldable phones years ago. In 2019, Samsung jumped into a test with the Galaxy Fold, and they later came up with some improvements to the original design. But their arch-rival Apple? Look at the shadows on the shore and see who is left. Forget seeing a foldable iPhone in 2023, be prepared for it to arrive at least in 2026 with Samsung’s alleged Galaxy Z Fold-9, a new report says.

This is certainly a very strong blow to the “trendsetter” image that Apple usually enjoys in the past. So, what’s the delay? Interestingly, it seems as if Apple isn’t completely okay with the flexible technology already in place. Unlike Samsung’s many foldable options, Apple is reportedly considering two designs: a book fold like the Galaxy Z Fold and a flip-form like the Z Flip, the latest type of foldable phone. However, it seems like Apple is focused on portability and user experience, and the current folding technology doesn’t seem to be as good quality as they would like.

Such a delay may raise eyebrows among all doubters. According to the statement, Apple has already ordered the supply of components from well-known display supply companies like Samsung and LG. Additionally, some rumors suggest that engineers from a different Apple product (Vision Pro) may be transferring to their teams for the flexible iPhone. This shows that Apple is dedicated to the development of fossils, but is not rushing into the factors. Again, this will be done when they are ready and intend to use their approach.

While Samsung claims to be the leader in the foldable market, the future arrival of Apple is likely to bring about a major cultural change, as evidenced by its dominant position in the global smartphone market. The question remains: those who have just speculated about whether Apple will release a foldable phone soon and whether those early users will decide whether it’s worthwhile to wait for the phone will result in whether or not it will be the most popular phone on the market. Whether there is space or not. Whether or not it’s a full-blown hit or just a temporary hype will only become a matter of time and Samsung’s future efforts at innovation.
