In the latest development for Pixel users, Google has rolled out Android 15 Beta 2.2, packed with critical fixes aimed at enhancing user experience. The update, identified by build number AP31.240426.023.B4, incorporates the May 2024 security patch and is available for an extensive range of Pixel devices including the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a.

Android 15 Beta 2.2 is more substantial than the initial patch released post-I/O 2024. On a Pixel 8 and Pixel Tablet, the on-device OTA update size is 2.56 GB, contrasting with a mere 55.78 MB on a different Pixel 8 Pro, highlighting varied update requirements across devices.

Key fixes in this update include:

  • Resolution of issues where creating a private space initially removed app icons from the Home screen(s) (Issue #340868295).
  • Correction of a Wallet role issue that hindered NFC payments in certain scenarios (Issue #340933949).
  • Addressing the problem where the app drawer failed to open on swiping up (Issue #335798568).
  • Fixing NFC observe mode to ensure NFC payments process correctly.
  • Elimination of the green tint in 10-bit HDR video recordings.
