Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2

Key Points:

  • The new Android 14 version innovates multi-tasking features for tablets through big changes in small details.
  • The redesigned Alt+Tab experience promises to switch between apps and notifications in a more friendly way.
  • Furthermore, this improvement comes as the company is stepping up initiatives for the efficient performance of Android on larger screens.

The company’s efforts in optimizing the interface for tablets in recent Android upgrades have been questionable. Every update to Android 12L, and especially the updates made since its launch in early 2022, comes with some incremental improvement features specifically designed for larger screens. The main thing is that while Android 14 was quietly released last year Project Treble improvements such as changing the application aspect ratio and displaying the taskbar differently.

However, one enhancement, in particular, has remained under the radar until now: the excellent Alt+Tab approach. In the previous version, this shortcut button only opened the list of recent apps which did not provide visual curiosity and flawless transition to other applications. Android 14 develops an Alt+Tab environment with a streamlined flow of apps (up to six previews for navigation), which can be accessed by pressing the corresponding button, making switching between them much faster.

This Windows 10 has introduced an improved tone that not only simplifies multitasking but also results in a smoother experience, especially when you are using a physical keyboard. The beta release as well as features unveiled by developers during the Android 13 update have pointed to this as a sign of Google’s move to improve the tablet experience. As rumors of a Pixel tablet relaunch continue to grow, Android 14’s improvements couldn’t be timed at a better time, ensuring a flawless and more productive multitasking feature for customers.
