What technology aficionados are waiting for? The rumored launch of iOS 18 in a few months. What about the AirPods Pro, it comes as no surprise that they speculate this feature may be added to the device shortly as well. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman describes Apple’s plans for 2022 in a statement that comes from a trusted source. There is no new hardware inside the AirPods Pro that we are happy to tell you about. The innovation lies in the software.

This feature coming along with a privacy-preserving iOS 18 is said to be the addition of hearing aid mode to AirPods Pro. As for Gurman’s points, the picture is not clear. However, it is unclear if they will bring this feature to the new pro AirPods or just will it be present in the latest update from 2023. Moreover, a big gap exists in the service performance too. Whether it will be just an amplification utility, or rather something broader?

For this reason, this news is especially exciting because it points toward AirPods Pro being affordable for people who have suffered from a hearing deficit or mild hearing loss. Everything we need is right in front of us but is it utilized? Apple already features an idea named “Live Listen” which turns an iPhone into a directional microphone. A professional hearing aid mode would be an improvement to what’s out there, perhaps offering more chances for a personalized experience to the user.

Moreover, we only get the preliminary concept through the iOS 17 announcement so much more disclosure will be made at the definite disclosure. But one thing’s for sure: Apple spares no effort to make AirPods Pro into something more than music to the ears; it also bids to perfectly match hearing aids in ensuring good hearing.
