A Glance Gets Simpler: Google Assistant branding fades away

Android users, enjoy! The familiar “At a Glance” widget on your home screen has just been redesigned, and it could signal a big change within Google.

The “Assistant at a Glance” title is gone, replaced by a sleeker “At a Glance.” This seemingly minor change may signal Google Assistant stepping back from some widget responsibilities. Remember the “Powered by Google Assistant” tagline at a glance? He also left.

This is in line with rumors of “Gemini”, a new AI assistant potentially designed for wearable devices like headphones. Can the Assistant streamline its focus, taking on a more independent role at a glance?

However, there is a small hitch. Looks like there is a bug in the latest update – the button for menu options is invisible! Don’t worry, you can still access Settings by tapping the space next to Weather.

Although one small button may seem insignificant, this branding change and the “Gemini” whispers paint a bigger picture. At a glance it could have a life of its own, potentially paving the way for a more specialized assistant in the future.
