Android Gets a Friendly Face: New boot logo features playful mascot

As you may remember, that cute robot character Google came out as the symbol of the company’s Android platform in the second half of 2020. And what do you know: it wasn’t smaller but it’s getting bigger in some devices with the newly added 3D boot logo!

The “powered by Android” display has been improved aesthetically and recently came into service on the Galaxy S24 which is the latest of the Samsung Pixels. This stylish display feature is gradually reaching pixels as well. However, some phone manufacturers are moving towards developing even more specialized smartphones for different applications.

This new logo for our Boots personality, “The Bot,” features a 3D design to fit the image of our friendly robot friend. It finds itself hidden just below “Powered by Android” on the front screen, giving your mobile device a more attractive and personalized souvenir every time you turn it on.

Here’s the interesting part: The 3D effect appears to be exactly what happened in the movie. We first encountered it on the Honor Magic 6 Pro, where the bot created a realistic 3D model of it, which looks amazing. Although the same logo is used on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra (with a flat, less dimensional design), it is still distinguished from the older model by its ‘snowflake’ camera module design. On top of this, the existence of new options like the Nothing Phone (B), which has no such logo, shows that Google has possibly taken steps to give manufacturers freedom in how to implement this logo.

I’m personally single, I think it’s a cool way to incorporate symbolism in your unique way. This is just icing on the cake, as Boots often has a boring screen to begin with. But, the 3D version of the Honor Magic 6 Pro looks even better. I would always love to see this happen on a regular screen.

That being said, hopefully, this logo shape, rectangular, circular, or otherwise, will become prominent whenever you turn on your Android device!
