Android Auto 11.5 Beta arrives with new notification feature

It is Google, which launched one stable version of Android Auto for users just a week ago but now announced a new beta version of it, full of amazing new features for user expertise. With this update, “Notifications with Assistant” the variation which is earlier announced by Google is introduced.

It translates the text notifications that you receive into speech for subsequent processing by Google Assistant, and assistive features such as reading your messages for you will be available. According to Google, the notifications are not saved at all and are used to provide this functionality just to provide such features.

However, Google calls the technology that powers these summaries an “AI summary” for short and it is unclear if that is the current version or just the algorithm that is powering it. Upon launching Android Auto for the first time with this beta version, users are greeted with a notification explaining the new option: “Android Auto ‘gives’ (or sends) new notifications to Google so that we could have ‘features’ like (for example, cases of) reading messages”.

The point to take away here is the fact that the widget is still in the development stage. In some cases, the Assistant could perhaps still not summarize the longer messages of WhatsApp and it might get narrated as the whole message.

On the contrary, the increasing attention given to this characteristic by Google, along with their promises for several unveils ahead, points to the possibility of a detailed release to the public soon. Other than that, we are sure to have this functionality, together with other new features, appear on the Android platform for the benefit of many more users soon.
