The smartphone world is being completely reorganized these days in 2024. According to a research study conducted by IDC (International Data Corporation), it is estimated that Android is undergoing another major comeback and is expected to grow “as much as double” as Apple’s iOS. The American tech giant is introducing the fifth generation of iPhone amid competition increasing year after year across the world.

Although iPhones have cornered the US market in the past, their crypto croissant presentation is communal. And so with Apple experiencing a 10% decline in sales during the first quarter of 2024 and ousting it from the leader’s position, the entity has no choice but to cede the crown back to Samsung, which is the current Android leader. The main reason for this decline is the decline in sales in China, which is a very important market for Apple.

The factors that led to this revival of Android were many-sided. The next battleground is the legal battle between Apple and the DOJ over their rights to access data stored on Apple devices. The DOJ is against acts that involve monopolization of the App Store and messaging implications by Apple. The lawsuit could be the straw that tips the balance in Apple’s favor and it allows the company to loosen the grip, something that some consumers don’t like.

Nabila Popal, Research Director at IDC, implies that this is a year that could lead to an acceleration of Android As you can see, it’s a year breaking. Given the rise of Samsung with Apple’s market share gradually decreasing due to lawsuits and adverse market conditions, Android has the potential to take a larger share of the smartphone market share.
