YouTube introduces “Read-Only” comments

Imagine an environment where you just need to press a button to be entertained and learn – that’s YouTube for Kids for you. However, it is the performance section, so common to all online communities, that can be a minefield for young interactors. YouTube feels the same way and they are making extra efforts to protect kids by launching managed accounts.

“Read-only” comments… mind-boggling, because read-only comments are coming! This high-tech feature with safety sensors allows kids to smile with their eyes on what others are saying without the threat of negativity or inappropriate content. They can use this video for content and explore new ideas with it, but they have to have a good and healthy understanding.

Advocacy of the “middle way” paves the way for parents as they become health care decision-makers. The settings selection for a child’s YouTube account may range between “Find more” and “Most YouTube”, resulting in the child likely seeing participants’ comments without their participation. In addition to an optional “Explore” mode, similar to walking without talking to anyone, you can also create your tracks for a truly private experience.

Remember, you are in control! The system using the YouTube app and the Family Link app allows you to simplify comment settings and make history viewable. And even though Google tracks YouTube activity (and probably any other website with embedded videos for that matter) through g.co/MyActivity, the settings selected will not apply to YouTube videos hosted on other websites .

YouTube is one of those internet platforms that invented the read-only feature and all good things like that. Children can be assured of their safety while traveling and parents can know how to create the best experience online.
