Android 15 unveils private space: A secure sandbox for your phone

Picture yourself a time when you let one of your friends borrow your phone just to protect a few apps and data. Making that event even simpler is the fact that Google is currently planning to release an Android 15 feature called Private Spaces. Private Space is designed by Samsung to function similarly to Secure Folder and helps create a haven inside the phone.

Enhance Security

Unlike traditional lock screens, Private Space goes a step further in providing deep security.. PIN or fingerprint always comes as the second option and it makes it possible not to access after bypassing the main screen lock. It is also very useful for protecting the data of the entire device as it also includes sensitive applications, photos, and files.

Seamless Integration & Discretion

The Private Space app can be installed securely but seamlessly with your other apps on your cellphone. Navigate to it on your app drawer via a dedicated shortcut. The app icon is clearly showing, but a lock icon is missing in the status bar when using the Private Space application, which allows users to forget it completely. Notifications on the lock screen are kept to a minimum, potentially protecting your privacy a bit.

Customizable & User-Friendly

the choice is yours! Alternatively, you can either use your existing Google Account or create a new account dedicated solely to Withersglen’s use. Thus, no data or app history sharing will be possible between virtual private network providers. Tabs also have full control over the apps that run and the browsing history inside Private Space.

Take Control

Space owners with private space can take maximum control of the nanoworld by a variety of customizable parameters. It allows you to choose the lock option as per your preference, you can completely hide it from the app drawer for more privacy, and you manage to see the notifications of private apps.

Availability On The Horizon

<b]$$The Private Space feature will not be present in the recent Android 15 developer preview, but it is fully functional in the latest Android 14 QPR3 beta. This finding points to the release being very close, with a beta version for Android 15 going live, or a publicized announcement during this year’s Google I/O in May.

Private Space is the private space in your smartphone where no one else can be and you can enjoy moments of peace of privacy and control over your data.
