Contrary to this background, Rockstar Games has had a difficult time attempting to contain the leaks and rumors about its forthcoming game, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). These obstructions have resulted in important internal restructurings that will mark an important stage in the development of the game.

“Security concerns and a desire to boost productivity were primary reasons behind the termination of remote work arrangements,” as was stated by Jenn Kolbe during an internal communication obtained by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. This brings GTA 6 into what is referred to as “the last leg” of development according to one source.

“This shift puts us in the best possible position for maintaining the high-quality standards and polish synonymous with the Grand Theft Auto brand”, remarked Kolbe through email.

As of April, employees are expected back at their respective offices five days every week, a move that has elicited mixed reactions among employees. While some see it as a necessary step towards streamlining collaboration and ensuring project alignment others have raised issues on work-life balance, and logistical issues among other things.

Although without precise dates yet, Rockstar Games has targeted a potential release window for GTA 6 during 2025.
