The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a big step toward Samsung’s dedication to long-term software support, with insiders saying a solid seven-year timeline for Android and security updates. This follows the introduction of the Galaxy S24 series that offers elongated support and shows Samsung’s commitment to making their devices matter for years.
Only the Pixel Fold 2 and future Galaxy Z Fold 6 will enjoy longer update support like Google does to Pixel 8. The industry has shifted towards extended software support lifecycles, which elongates the life span as well as the value of high-end equipment.
Earlier sources stated that also the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will get seven years of Android OS upgrade. Also, part of Samsung’s sixth-generation foldable range comprising both the Fold 6 and Flip 6 is expected to present a seamless software experience akin to that in the Galaxy S24 series.
Moreover, there are several notable improvements in this model from its predecessor in terms of software longevity. The leaked CAD renderings show an amazing large-screen design and give an idea about some remarkable features that can take foldable technology further. It will be released in Q3, 2024.
