Pixel Launcher sheds its Google-centric shell

With a sense of nostalgia about the Pixel Launcher of yesteryear, you just remember what Google was all about. The search bar was already tied in with Google, Live View showed me what AI could serve me, and it was everything epic based around Google. Well, things are changing.

Likewise, a major change is the diminution of Google Assistant, which acts as a kind of personal digital assistant for using devices through voice commands. However, this took a back seat to Live View, and the search bar’s Voice button for voice search only represents basic voice search, leaving it through the Assistant. As with its main rival, Google Assistant is being sidelined by a replacement in the form of a new AI-powered platform called Gemini, a case where an installment of such a platform may overtake the Assistant in the future.

Now the search bar can completely separate itself from Google which leads to real searches and intent. On the one hand, Google has gotten used to being a monopoly and always being in the first place, which explains its decision to please EU regulations. Thus, Pixel users will soon find that they are democratic in choosing other search engines for the lock screen.

These modifications are a sign that the Pixel Launcher is no longer a private Google club with no room for input from different individuals. The fact that Google aspires to remain top-notch is vital given that it is facing a new world of change, given that users are more in control and pixels can be reprogrammed by AI assistants like Gemini.
